The Palden Sakya Center of New York City is located on a quiet block off Central Park West on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.  The interior of the Center is like a miniature Tibetan Buddhist temple.  The shrine is surrounded by cloth-covered scriptures containing the Buddha’s teachings, and on the walls hang beautiful painted thangkas of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, which encourage devotion and focus the meditative mind.  In this tranquil setting, our resident teacher, Lama Pema Wangdak, conducts weekly classes in Buddhist disciplines, guides students in meditation, leads pujas and other prayer rituals, and teaches the Tibetan language. All are welcome to participate in whichever activities they feel drawn to. The only requirement for participation is the thought that the teachings given at the Center may be of benefit in one’s life along with a willingness to test that thought. Everyone is welcome to join our family of Dharma brothers and sisters!
