If you are a talented man,
Everyone gathers around you without being called.
A scented flower, though far distant,
Attracts a cloud of swarming bees.

The Vikramasila Foundation is a non-profit organization for religious, educational, and cultural purposes. Under the guidance of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin, the head of the Sakya order of Tibetan Buddhism, and with the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the foundation was established in 1989 in New York City and Fairlawn, New Jersey, by the Venerable Lama Pema Wangdak. Based on the teachings of the Sakya school, the foundation seeks to provide the wisdom of the East, here in the West, through Tibetan Buddhist studies and meditative practices, education centers, meetings and conventions, special religious and social services, and publications.
